Welcome to the Philippine Education Blog!

This blog was created as part of the IEMG 8530 Comparative Education course under the International Education Management program at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies. In this blog, I will include information about the Philippine educational system, its contemporary approach to Education for All, and adult education for indigenous peoples. Each tab on the top navigation bar will link you to different pages where more detailed information is posted. Feel free to begin exploring the Philippine education system!

In recent years, much of the world’s media focus has centered on natural disasters and the havoc they bring to unprepared communities. The fear factor and sensationalism created by various media outlets draws populations around the globe to gravitate on these hopeless events. However, despite the longstanding  weather patterns that have developed in and around the Philippines in current times, this archipelago stands as one of the most diverse countries in Southeast Asia with a long established historical, cultural, and philosophical educational background. As you navigate the site, you will be exposed to the multifaceted educational approaches upheld by the Philippine Department of Education and how the country is working to incorporate contemporary and equitable access to schooling for many generations, populations, and provinces of the country.
